The attached article about Royal Dutch Shell from Firstpost is a glimpse into the near future. 

One of the largest supermajors is working through multiple sea change decisions. To name a few – slashing costs in traditional business areas, shifting focus to renewables; reducing capital expenditures and focusing on predictive maintenance to extend the useful life of existing assets.  These are all signs that the near-future is not going to look anything like the recent past.  

One thing is for certain, new and emerging technologies will play an increasing role in facilitating the post-COVID operating environment, and the companies that can best leverage these technologies will be the ones that will be positioned for the future.
