We are continuously evolving, and we’re looking for an experienced UAV Reality Capture Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced drone operator with past experience using a range of survey, confined space, fixed wing, photogrammetry, and LiDAR equipment on complex sensitive industrial sites.

Position Overview
As a UAV Reality Capture Technician at Eye-bot, you’ll be responsible for the safe and accurate operation of drones and other reality capture hardware to collect high-quality data for our clients in oil and gas and other industries. You will be expected to operate in dynamic, field-based environments, capturing critical data for a wide range of applications. A willingness to travel to various field location is essential. Your expertise in photogrammetric data capture and drone operations will be central to supporting our growing capabilities and delivering data that drives real-world outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate drones to capture high-quality photogrammetric data, and basic inspection visuals using a myriad of different payloads.
• Manage drone flights for surveying and mapping tasks on oil and gas facilities, ensuring safety and adherence to client rules and regulations.
• Work directly with project managers and field teams to understand project requirements and field dynamics.
• Capture data using both SLAM-based LiDAR and terrestrial LiDAR systems when necessary.
• Ensure optimal flight conditions by evaluating weather, equipment, and environmental factors before each flight.
• Review captured data to ensure quality and completeness, reporting any issues to the project team.
• Provide operational support to the team for mission planning, flight execution, and data verification.

• Maintain a safe and compliant work environment, strictly following all FAA and safety regulations.
• Be willing to travel to field locations including remote, challenging environments, to support data capture requirements.

Qualifications

• Current FAA part 107 drone license
• Proficiency in drone flight operations, including pre-flight planning, flight execution, and post-flight data verification.
• Experience with SLAM-based LiDAR and Terrestrial LiDAR scanners a plus.
• Excellent understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to drone operations in industrial environments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with project teams and clients.
• Willingness to travel for field assignments, often to remote locations.
• Previous experience using DJI M300/350, Flyability Elios, Voliro T, WingtraOne, Inspired Flight IF800 or similar drones required

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of drone-based photogrammetry techniques and data capture processes.
• Proven experience operating drones on oil and gas facilities, capturing photogrammetric and inspection data for a variety of applications.
• Knowledge of data processing and analysis techniques for photogrammetric data capture.
